St.  Baldrick’s 2011 Shavees
Email this article

I’ve answered the call to be a hero! I’m having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

To support Dave Carter of the Highwoods team, please DONATE!

Kevin Smith, captain of the Markel team and organizer of the Innsbrook St.  Baldrick’s event, poses before “Shaving for a Cause” at the 2010 event.

To support Kevin’s 2011 effort and team Markel, please DONATE.

Duncan Minton says, “give a little bit to A) help children’s cancer research, B) get a tax deduction and C) see me bald for the first time since I was about 3 or 4.  Please give what you can, and join us at Insbrook for the event on March 12, 1-5.”

To date, Duncan has raised $1,470 towards his $2,000 goal.  To donate on his behalf, CLICK HERE.

You heard it right – I’m shaving my head to help support and raise money for children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment.  I also want to honor my mom who was diagnosed with cancer last month-Jan 2011.  Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.  Thanks so much – Georgia (anyone want to join me?)

The previous two years, my participation was in an effort to support a worthy cause.  In July of 2010, my wife and I were lucky enough to become the proud parents of triplets.  Understanding now the love of a parent, I want to do everything in my power to help those affected by childhood cancer.
