For the second year in a row, Capital Ale House helped to bring the Taste of Virginia festival (TOVA) to Innsbrook. Also for the second year in a row, TOVA was a one of a kind event with good food, delicious wine, craft beer, margaritas, great music, and a grand fireworks finale!
All those in attendance on July 1 were winners but several of the restaurants were given special recognition. Taking the premier prize, “Taste of Virginia”, was Nacho Mama’s with the best tacos and margaritas around. Taking home “Le Chic Suite” was Richmond Marriott, and winning both “Best Presentation” and “Virginia’s Sweetest” was River City Chocolates with their addicting cheesecake. The final award, “People’s Choice Award” was hard fought for and in the end Richmond Marriott took the gold. Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for voting for the People’s Choice Award!
Think someone else should have won? Show your support for them by visiting their restaurants when you’re out and about. In case you’re craving the delicious food from the festival, here is a list of the wonderful restaurants that helped to support this event: Continental Divide, Elephant Thai, Gelati Celesti, Gregory’s Grill, Grapevine, The Halligan Bar and Grill, Kona Ice, Nacho Mama’s, River City Chocolates, Richmond Marriott Short Pump, Strawberry Street Café, Two Kings Concessions, Tarrant’s West, and Whole Foods Market.
For those who were unable to make Taste of Virginia, or left before the end, here’s what you missed. Heated corn hole competitions in front of the Capital Ale House booth, a high flying bounce house for the kids, wonderful music from Whiskey Rebellion, Soul Expressions turning the field into a dance floor, and Silver Bullets leading the count down to the best fireworks in town. Thank you to all those who graced this event with your presence and persevered through the sweltering heat.
A hearty thank you to our volunteers. More than 200 people from our community came out and helped us put on this event, including folks from the Rotary Club of Innsbrook and other areas, Key Club of Deep Run High School, Innsbrook After Hours volunteers, Christmas Mother, Innsbrook Foundation and our charity partner, National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS). They came out and gave their time, talent and sweat equity to make sure attendees received a generous helping of extraordinary customer service. We are grateful for our volunteers who continually create great experiences for the people who attend the many events that are presented by the Innsbrook Foundation throughout the year.
We would be remiss if we did not thank every amazing sponsor that made this event possible. Thank you to Capital Ale House, Whole Foods Market, Highwoods Properties, RTS Labs, LLC, Richmond Marriott Short Pump, Chesapeake Bank, Colliers International, Silver Diner Innsbrook, Markel Corporation, Brown’s Distributing, Commonwealth Bookkeeping Services, TowneBank, Le Bleu, Michael & Son Restoration, MLH Asset Management, Bacon Insurance, Brightview, Green Top, Summit Media, Style Weekly and NBC 12.
We were so fortunate and honored to make a donation to our TOVA charity partner, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS). In total, $14,022 was raised on behalf of NMSS.
Thanks to all the sponsors:
